Heading into the season finale at Watkins Glen, Skylar was just 4 points behind series veteran and defending champion Tim Minor.

Minor Clinches Title as Robinson Wins Race

Skylar RobinsonWatkins Glen, NY – While Skylar Robinson took the lead back with five laps to go to win the season finale F2000 Championship Series race at Watkins Glen, it was Tim Minor that clinched the 2014 Championship with a second place finish. Robinson started on pole, lost the lead, and grabbed it back for his fourth win of the season, while Minor followed. Saturday winner Sam Beasley finished third in round 14 of the 2014 season.


Robinson Takes Final Pole, Key Points

Skylar Robinson took poleWatkins Glen, NY - Championship on the line, Skylar Robinson took pole plus three bonus points for Sunday's F2000 Championship finale at Watkins Glen. Tim Minor will start second, and leads the standings by 12 points over Robinson. On Saturday, those two driver made contact in turn one. Beasley Leads Polestar One-Two at Watkins Glen

Sam BeasleyWatkins Glen, NY – Sam Beasley led all 14 laps to take his third win of the 2014 F2000 season with a dominant victory at Watkins Glen for Polestar Motor Racing with his teammate David Grant finishing in second position. Tim Paul scored his first podium of the year with a third place run in the Screaming Monkey Racing No. 06 Van Diemen. The big drama, however, was first lap contact between Championship contenders Skylar Robinson and Tim Minor.


Minor Claims Pole with 1:51.2

Tim Minor put his No. 88 into the 1:51.2 rangeWatkins Glen, NY – Tim Minor rocketed to the fastest lap in qualifying, and the fastest around Watkins Glen for any F2000 car ever, taking pole for the first F2000 Series race of the weekend with a lap of 1:51.291. Minor played a game of fast laps with Sam Beasley and Skylar Robinson, and those three will start one-two-three for this afternoon’s race. Minor’s Saturday penalty has since been rescinded by series officials.


Penalties Rescinded After Practice

Watkins Glen, NY – Series officials have rescinded grid-spot penalties against Tim Minor and Jim Libecco following Friday practice at Watkins Glen. Further review of evidence and timing and scoring logs showed both cars were unable to turn into the pits in a safe manner and did not blow the black flag.
