Aaron Jeansonne: Steady Progress

Aaron JeansooneSULPHUR, La. (May 15, 2018) – Two race weekends of the 2018 F2000 Championship Series season are already in the books. It’s been a wild ride to start this year to say the least. Of course, in Road Atlanta, we began the season with two “DNFs”, so I knew going into Watkins Glen we would need two solid finishes. But first, I took a trip to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for a nice weekend of IMSA racing. As much as I’d like to say how fun it was to compete there, that wasn’t the case.... yet. I had a great time getting to know more people in the racing world and spectating at an exciting IMSA event live for the first time. It surprised me just how many fans showed up to support their favorite manufacturers and drivers, and I was even able to meet some of my favorite drivers (below with fellow former Team USA Scholarship winner Dane Cameron). I can’t wait to be able to attend another!

Roe First in Surprise Rain at Watkins Glen

Watkins Glen, NY – James Roe emerged with his first F2000 Championship Series win after charging to the front with rain falling late in the race at Watkins Glen International. Roe won by a huge margin over Steve Jenks and Davis Durrett, with Tim Paul in fourth. Full Results.

Dixon Dominates WGI Race 1

Watkins Glen, NY – Brandon Dixon led all the way to take his first win of the 2018 season, coming on Sunday morning at Watkins Glen International in a clean, all-green flag race. Dixon beat out Steve Jenks, who charged to finish second, while Simon Sikes completed the podium ahead of fourth-place Davy D’Addario and Dave Weitzenhof in fifth. Full Results.

F2000 Race 1 Moved to Sunday Morning

Watkins Glen Rain ActionWatkins Glen, NY - Due to limited visibiliy from fog, Formula Race Promotions has moved the third round of the F2000 Championship Series to Sunday morning at Watkins Glen International. The race will now take place 10:20 a.m. local time, with the second race set for its originally scheduled time of 1:55 p.m. local time.

Durrett Grabs Watkins Glen Pole in Rain


Watkins Glen, NY – It was the No. 10 of Davis Durrett that set the fastest lap time during a fully wet qualifying session for the third round of the 2018 F2000 Championship Series season on Saturday afternoon at Watkins Glen International. Durrett beat out James Roe, Brandon Dixon and Steve Jenks for the pole, with point's leader Simon Sikes rounding out the top five. Full Results.

Brandon Dixon Paces Wet Practice

Watkins Glen, NY – Brandon Dixon was fastest of all over two practice sessions spanning an hour of track time on Saturday morning at Watkins Glen in wet conditions. Dixon’s fast time came in the second practice session, as the defending Champion ran a quick lap of 2:12.681 to better Davis Durrett and Tim Paul. Full Results.
